Transportation Driver
Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a compassionate, dependable driver to join our team. Our drivers transport Adults with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities to their life skills day program as well as community outings in the Port Charlotte area.
As a Driver you will play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by assuring their safe transportation to and from their designated locations.
Our drivers have assigned vehicles which are Ford HD Transit vans. Each van is equipped with a camera system and GPS Tracking.
Hours will be based on the route assigned. A typical day shift would be an AM/PM timeframe for drop off and pick (specific start and end times may vary by day depending on route) 7:00 a.m. - 9:00a.m. and then 2:00 p.m.- 5:30/6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Community outings take place mid-morning, on specific days of the week. This position will be between 36-40 hours per week. Upon occasion there may be an opportunity for additional hours to assist with special events in the program as well.
Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with passengers.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the individuals.
- Ensure vehicle is operated in compliance with applicable traffic regulations, ordinances and laws in the jurisdiction in which being operated.
- Inspect vehicle to identify needed maintenance.
- Sanitize and clean vehicles daily following routes, removing any trash and/or debris.
- Ensure individuals are accounted for and transportation logs are completed daily.
- Assist each passenger in boarding and departing the vehicle, ensuring that they have entered their destination safely.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass level 2 background check & drug screening.
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid State of Florida driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stretch and have full range of motion.
