Part-time Mentor/Caregiver in Fort Myers

Community Resource Network of Florida is looking for a caregiver who is fun, compassionate, dependable and is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and live their best life.

The individual is an 34 year-old man in need of a mentor/caregiver to support him with household chores, prompting for personal care and taking him on community outings. He music, drawing, and going out into the community.

This is an independent contract position and pays $15.00 per hour

Schedule: Two weekdays per week from Noon-4pm (schedule flexible)

You will be a good fit for this position if you :

Responsibilities and Duties you can expect in the role:

  • Encouraging and supporting the individual during home activities
  • Meal/snack preparation 
  • Ensuring individuals safety and maintaining a safe living environment 
  • Prompting for personal care
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks 
  • Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individual to social events, community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments
  • Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization 
  • Complete daily progress notes 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to pass Local and Level 2 Background Screening
  • Provide proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training.
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Have a valid Driver's license 
  • Are 18 years of age or older
