Full Time Driver

Transportation - Lehigh Acres, FL - Full Time

Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a compassionate, dependable driver to join our team.  Our drivers transport Adults with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities to their life skills day programs, and community outings in the Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres areas.  

 As a Driver you will play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by assuring their safe transportation to and from their designated locations.   

Our drivers have assigned vehicles and drive Ford HD Transit vans.  Each van is equipped with camera system and GPS Tracking.

This route will originate and end in the Lehigh Acres area and will transport Individuals to different locations in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.  

Hours will be based on route assigned. 
The shift is a split AM/PM timeframe for drop off and pick (specific start and end times may vary by day depending on route) 6:00 a.m. - 10:00a.m. and then 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.  Monday-Friday.  No weekends, no holidays!  A typical work week could range from 35-40 hours per week.  Upon occasion there may be an opportunity for additional hours to assist with outings or special events. 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with passengers.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the individuals.
  • Ensure vehicle is operated in compliance with applicable traffic regulations, ordinances and laws in the jurisdiction in which being operated.
  • Inspect vehicle to identify needed maintenance.
  • Sanitize and clean vehicles daily following routes, removing any trash and/or debris.
  • Ensure individuals are accounted for and transportation logs are completed daily.
  • Assist each passenger in boarding and departing the vehicle, ensuring that they have entered their destination safely.
  • Ensure that individuals are wearing their masks when boarding the vehicle.

Additional information:

Candidates must be comfortable and experienced working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.  Some of the people we serve may also have physical limitations that require assistance getting on and off the van and may utilize a wheelchair. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must pass level-2 background check & drug screening.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid State of Florida driver’s license
  • Clean driving record -No alcohol or drug related offenses
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stretch and have full range of motion.
